Come Paint Alberta

Exciting news!

The Lacombe Art Guild is hosting a plein air event with Come Paint Alberta, and you’re invited!

Location: City of Lacombe

Date: July 19th, 2025

Fee: No cost to attend

Time: 8:30am to 3pm

The day of: find our Lacombe Art Guild check-in table set up from 8:30am to 3pm on the Lacombe Memorial Centre courtyard Lest We Forget Park (in the garden area, near the gazebo). Decide where in the City of Lacombe you would like to work on your plein air creations, and head out for the day!

FAQ:

  • You can create as long as you want (given you have registered, check in, and gotten your stamp)

  • End of the day you take your work home

    • Should you like to submit it to the show and sale to be juried in with Come Paint Alberta later in the year. You can find out more here.

  • You bring your own supplies and materials

  • No restriction on the medium, style, or subject

Lest We Forget Park - Lacombe Memorial Centre

The courtyard area of the LMC are always filled with beautiful florals! It is a beautiful spot to spend time painting - there is a gazebo, an outdoor stage, and a stunning statue on the grounds. Inside you can enjoy a stop by the cafe, and be sure to take a walk of the interior to admire local works by our guild and other local artists to the area!

Len Thompson Trout Pond

DIRECTIONS FROM HIGHWAY 2A: Head East on Wolf Creek Drive, turn North (left turn) onto Len Thompson Drive. The Len Thompson Trout Pond (and the World's Largest Lure) is located at the end of the road. Public parking is available.

Historic Downtown Lacombe

If you’re on the hunt for structures to paint that give homage to the history of the area, take a walk! There are many plenty of stunning architectures to take inspiration from within not only historic downtown Lacombe, but throughout the rest of the city as well!

Murals found throughout the City

Draw inspiration from a self guided tour of the murals found within the City of Lacombe. You could take a walk and enjoy the artwork as you decide on a good spot to start your creation!
